Speeding Ticket

The fine for a speeding ticket is $45.45 + M. (M = the # of miles you were over the speed limit.)

1. Mr. Tanner was stopped for going 38mph in a 25mph school zone. How much as his ticket?

2. Mrs. Bird was fined $52.45 for speeding in a school zone. How fast was she going?

Great Try! You got the 1st part correct. Mr. Tanner's ticket would be $58.45 - he was going 13 miles over the speed limit + 45.45

    Mrs. Bird was going 32mph in a school zone. I got my answer by subtracting 52.45 - 45.45 = 7 - she was going 7 miles over the speed limit 25 + 7 = 32 mph
